take a snapshot in VLC, you can:
Open a video file in VLC
Pause the video on the frame you want to capture
Select Video Take Snapshot from the top menu
You can also use the keyboard shortcuts:
Shift + S: on Windows or Linux
Command + Alt + S: on macOS
After capturing a snapshot, a thumbnail of the capture will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. The thumbnail will also show the directory where the shot is stored. By default, it's saved in My Pictures as a PNG file.
