How to Restore Antique Hardware

Laine walks you through the steps of taking the paint and rust off of old hardware and restoring them to like new.
1) soak hinges in a crock pot filled with water on high heat for 5-6 hours
2) remove from water with tongs and place into cool water.
3) paint should pop right off, but they may require a little scrubbing or detail scraping
4) fill a pot on the stove with vinegar and bring to a boil
5)place hinge in the boiling vinegar and let sit for approx 5 min
6)remove with tongs and scrub with fine steel wool
7)rinse and buff with a cloth
8) dip in boiled linseed oil
