In his Bhagavad Gita, chapter 15 verse 19, Abhinavagupta inserted a verse about Devi, which Swamiji explains here.
"I Abhinavagupta, have somewhere in Śiva Śakti bhavana in that stotra (hymn), penned down these ślokas (verses) for the Devī. Who is that Devī? She is Lord Shiva’s svātantrya śakti (supreme independent energy), who is existing in the manifestation of this universe."
