In today's beginner Final Cut Pro X color grading tutorial, we're going to learn how to make our shots pop and look a little more cinematic, by using 2 simple steps of color correcting. We'll take a look at a shot that has a slightly off color and is a flat image in general, and all we’re going to do is correct the color of the shot, so it's more natural to what our eyes would see, and expand the dynamic range of the shot. So what does 'expand the dynamic range' mean? Essentially we’re going to add a little bit more contrast in our image by creating more of a difference between the brightest points in our shots and the darkest points.
