Did Gurgaon Really fail? Urban Planning,Infrastructure,Road
Gurgaon,has failed only because of the politician.
The Police of Gurgaon and also the Administration is very pro-active,but lacks political support.
Whatever development you see,in the form of high rise buildings is purely left to the corporate world. In last 3 yrs,the Govt constructed 3 underpasses,on the Expressway.Today,all 3 are like swimming pools.
Water harvesting has been made mandatory for all residential plots but not for Govt buildings.
Majority of the office goers come from different areas of Delhi,to the Cyber Hub, Udyog Vihar and other offices. If the Dwarka Metro was connected to these places,it would ease the traffic on the roads. The Haryana Govt has failed to even take a decision,when in lesser time,the neighboring Noida has already taken the Metro to Greater Noida.The problem is vote bank politics.Even now the route selected is not as per the citizens choice (85% voted for a direct link to Dwarka) but a circuitous route which will take double the time. A 12 Kms route will now be 32 Kms route (covering thousands of votes).
The Govt has made solar power connection compulsory for all plots of 500 yds, but not for Govt buildings. It could provide lights to dark patches.
No CCTVs exist on blackout roads. Why it cannot be made mandatory for all public buildings ? Why solar lights cannot be put on public roads ? Why we cannot utilise rainwater for better use ? Because a politician knows that no honest person can get elected,thanks to our System.
I had written a letter to the CM Shri Khattar, on 01 Jan 2015,highlighting all the above points but did not even receive an acknowledgement. It shows the CM’s concern for Gurgaon and respect for its residents. I had suggested that underground tanks should be constructed (under the roads) in areas prone to flooding and water harvesting pits dug,so that underground water level can improve.All Govt buildings and public buildings like Schools, Hospitals, Malls, Hotels etc must have CCTV coverage of their surrounding areas. Solar lights be put alternatively,so that even during power failure there is enough security light. Connect the Huda City Centre to the Airport Metro so that the traffic congestion on roads reduce. Every household or office needs to go to the airport or the New Delhi Railway Station.
Unfortunately, the politicians do not like straight, simple and cheap solutions. Their interest lies in expensive projects. Therefore, the taxpayers money will keep going down the drain (although there is no drain for the water) and the Millenium City will soon loose its status, to perhaps Greater Noida. - Qoura.com
