First Inauguration of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow (2007)

This semi-rare clip was shot for Altyn Asyr in February of 2007, following the 2007 Turkmen elections, which resulted in Gurbanguly Mälikgulyýewiç Berdimuhamedow (more commonly known as Arkadag) becoming the second president of Turkmenistan, after his predecessor, Saparmurat “Türkmenbaşy” Niyazov, passed away on December 21, 2006. As of 2021, Berdimuhamedow is still in power, and is unlikely to lose power anytime soon.
