Today's video deals with a leaking two piece tire stem and what to do with it if it becomes damaged and leaking. As will become obvious in the video the first thing that should be done is a slow release of any pressure in the tire with the valve stem on top of rotation.  Yes, I get an unexpected bath when the stem is removed while the tire is under pressure.  But no matter....it proves the earlier point made about releasing the pressure first.
Fluid filled tires on old and new tractors can be a big problem to deal with.  The older tractors were filled with a calcium chloride solution that was extremely harmful to the metal rims when long term leakage occurred.  Leaks of any kind needed to be taken care of quickly to eliminate the possibility of rim damage.  Newer tractors no longer are filled with the corrosive material and are filled with different materials that are non-corrosive and are much more friendly to the environment.  Water can be used in a warm climate that sees no freeze condition however the most popular are beet juice, propylene glycol (not ethelyene glycol), calcium chloride and weighted foam.  My preference is the foam filled because it renders them essentially puncture proof, but it can be extremely expensive depending on the size of tire.
To add your liquid solution there is an adapter kit that is simple to use and readily available. A simple google search will find one for sale near you in seconds.  Most of them can be used with almost all liquid ballasts used today.
