बोनसाई बागवानी की एक जापानी कला है | बोनसाई का मतलब होता है "बौने पौधे"। इस कला में पौधों को गमले में इस प्रकार उगाया जाता है कि उनका प्राकृतिक रूप तो बना रहे लेकिन वे आकार में बौने रह जाएं।
सभी काष्ठीय पौधों बोन्साई बनाई जा सकती है | जैसे :- अनार, आम, अमलताश, अमरूद, आंवला, बरगद, संतरा, सेमल, गूलर, गुलमोहर, पीपल, जकरेण्डा, लीची, चीड़, नीम, नींबू, केसिया, ओक, बेर, बर्च, देवदार, फर, सेमल, चमेली, बोगनवेलिया आदि। बोनसाई हेतु बीज से तैयार पौधे ठीक रहते हैं।
बोनसाई हेतु उथले गमलों का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इनकी गहराई कम होती है |
पौधों को आकार देना बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होता है | इसके लिए पौधे की कंटाई-छंटाई की जाती है | पतली शाखाओं को तांबे के तारों के सहारे सुनिश्चित दिशा दी जाती है। शाखाओं के मजबूत होने पर तारों को हटा दिया जाता है। ऐसा करने से पौधे को निश्चित आकार मिलता है |
प्रतिदिन हल्की सिंचाई करनी चाहिए और गमले को ऐसी जगह रखना चाहिए जहाँ कुछ देर धुप आती हो।
The word “Bon-sai” (often misspelled as bonzai or banzai) is a Japanese term which, literally translated, means “planted in a container”. Bonsai is a Japanese art form of cultivation techniques to produce small trees in containers that mimic the shape and scale of full size real trees. It is a fascinating art-form that combines horticultural techniques and Asian aesthetics in a unique way.
The 1st step to make a Bonsai is to select a plant. All woody plants can turn into Bonsai with little care and efforts.
2nd important thing is pot selection. Bonsai can only grow in pot. It is not a different breed so you need to select a planter with lesser depth usually 3-4 inch only.
3rd is Pruning. Styling, turning and twisting of branches is endless job. You need to do it time to time. Pruning of roots once a year and re potting is also necessary.
4th and last step is decoration. It describe your height of creativity. What you want to reflect is in your hand.
Water daily as little pot and soil can't hold more water and keep at a place where it can get little sun-light also.
