2025 Subaru Outback: A New Era for Adventure SUVs!

The 2025 Subaru Outback is now on sale at Planet Subaru. Typically, Subaru introduces new models on a five-year cycle, but due to lingering post-pandemic supply chain issues, the all-new Outback will be delayed until the 2026 model year. This means the 2025 model will closely resemble the 2024 version. The 2026 Outback is expected to feature new exterior styling, interior updates, and advanced infotainment and safety features. However, there will be no all-electric Outback, as Subaru already offers the Solterra, a similar-sized electric vehicle. To meet emissions regulations, a hybrid Outback might be introduced, leveraging Subaru’s partnership with Toyota, similar to the Crosstrek Hybrid. A hybrid Forester is planned for 2025, hinting at a possible hybrid Outback soon after. The rugged Wilderness model is also expected to continue, potentially launching a year after the 2026 Outback.

The 2025 Outback includes a standard power moonroof, DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System, navigation, and a 360-degree heated steering wheel on Limited trims. It maintains its reputation for SUV capability with a car-like ride, thanks to Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Active Torque Vectoring, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and X-MODE with Hill Descent Control. With 8.7 inches of ground clearance (9.5 inches for the Wilderness), it offers impressive off-road performance while ensuring low step-in height for convenience. Safety remains a priority, with the Outback earning the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award and a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from NHTSA. Notably, over 97% of Outbacks sold in the last decade are still on the road today.

The 2025 Outback is available in several trims: Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Touring XT. The Base and Premium trims feature a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine with 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, while the Wilderness and XT trims have a 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine producing 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. All models come with a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission with 8-speed manual shift mode and paddle shift controls.
