Meghan Markle has made a rather shameless trip to Uvalde, Texas, in what can only be described as a publicity stunt.
Though she may have had the best intentions, the trip has seemingly gone horribly, horribly awry.
From the setting of flowers in front of a cadre of photographers that were conveniently there to capture her in mourning to her reportedly "large" donation of two crates of fairly generic food to a local blood bank, her trip has gone down like a lead balloon with the public.
Though this trip was done a "personal capacity as a mother," the optics of this trip have made it look like she's trying to profit off tragedy.
Add in the chartered private jet, which definitely cost more than the food she donated, it seems like the former actress took this opportunity to pull attention away from a tragedy and onto herself.
The perception of this is so bad that even the mainstream media is taking a back seat.
Meghan Markle may have thought she was reaching out to a local community, but perhaps it would have been better if she checked her ego and desire to be seen in action at the door and put together a strong and robust donation campaign.
