Markhor is the “national animal of Pakistan”. It is indigenous mammal of large wild goats and is found in the mountainous regions of Pakistan (Hunza Nagar valleys. It is also known as the screw horn goat, Pashto: مرغومی‎ marǧūmi and Persian/Urdu as مارخور.According to folklore, the markhor has the ability to kill a snake.
