Walking tour of Candal, one of Portugal's Schist Villages ("Aldeias do Xisto"), located in the municipality of Lousã. Schist Villages are named after the schist stone used in their construction. These villages have preserved much of their original architecture and layout, reflecting a way of life that has been largely unchanged for centuries. Candal offers an authentic experience of Portugal’s rural heritage.
