Given that it rides on a unibody platform shared with the Pilot, the Honda Ridgeline has a very unique bed design.  While competitors like the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger rely on body on frame architectures that see a metal box bolted directly to a frame, the Ridgeline's bed is integral to the structure of the vehicle, and is therefore constructed differently.  After going through the Ridgeline's bed - which you'll see in detail in the video - I think of it as an SUV cargo area that's been partitioned off from the main cabin, lined with plastic, and opened up to the elements.  The Ridgeline's bed contains a few unique quirks too, like a tailgate that can be opened from the side in addition to the traditional way, and a large storage compartment underneath the bed floor, which can be lined with ice and used as a cooler, and even contains a drain plug so that you can drain the water out after the ice has melted.  The spare tire is also accessed from inside the bed as well, making it easier to change a flat, assuming your bed isn't full of mulch when it comes time to do so.
