The best time to visit the zoo is from from morning 8:30 AM to 11 AM and from 3 PM to 5:30 PM as this is the time, when the animals and birds are active.

The entry fare for Mysore Zoo are as follows:
Adult: Rs 80 (Rs 100 during weekends and holidays)
Children( 5-12 years): Rs 40 (Rs 80 during weekends and holidays)
Children(below 5 years): Free on all working days.

History of Mysore Zoo:

The Mysore Zoo was established in 1892 by Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar and was initially intended for the exclusive use of the royal family. However, it was opened to the public in 1902 and has since been one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mysuru.
