The Unheard Story Of Ekalavya From Mahabharat

Did you know that Ekalavya was killed by none other than Krishna? In the Ved Vyas Mahabharata, Krishna also told Arjuna that Ekalavya was superior to Arjuna in archery. Krishna says that if Ekalavya possessed his thumb, the Devas, the Danavas, the Rakshasas and the serpents would never be able to defeat him in the battle. Krishna affirms that his fist was firm and that he could continuously shoot arrows throughout the day and night even without his thumb. And it was for the sake of Arjuna that Krishna decided to kill Eklavya. Not a lot of background is provided about the birth of Ekalavya except for that he was the son of Hiranya Dhanu, the king of the Nishadha. While some sources say he was the adopted son of Hiranya Dhanu, there is no mention of this in the Ved Vyas Mahabharata. During their childhood, the Pandavas were keen on learning the art of warfare. Arjuna especially took a great deal of care and interest in learning archery. He also had the greatest devotion towards his Guru Dronacharya.
