Pakal the Great is known for his profound influence on Maya culture and architecture. Pakal's reign marked a golden era of innovation and expansion.

In this video, the Maya Ajq'ij, Apab'yan Tew, and I explore the his architectural achievements, most notably the majestic constructions at Palenque, which stand as a testament to his visionary planning and the Maya understanding of life and nature.

In this video we also dive on his Nawal (birthday in the Maya Calendar) 8 Junajpu/Ahau (Conqueror Sun), and on the meaning of the carvings of his tomb, often called the "astronaut of Palenque," due to a creation of the Swiss writer called Erich von Däniken, and later spread this distortion was spread by the Jose Arguelles community.
