Max Verstappen doesn't mind criticism after incident with Lando Norris

------------------------

Last Sunday, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were involved in a thrilling battle for victory that resulted in a slight contact between the two on track, now ahead of the British Grand Prix, Verstappen has expressed that his main concern lies in "preserving the friendship with Lando", as they are very close. Additionally, he has made it clear that he doesn't care at all about the criticism he has received over the past few days.

Verstappen and Norris have a lot of respect for each other and have been friends for a long time. The last thing they want is for an incident on the track to affect their relationship. Both spoke about what happened at Spielberg and seem to have put the matter behind them. According to Verstappen, they came to the conclusion that they enjoyed the fight, even though it was a silly little touch that had big consequences, especially for Norris due to the puncture he suffered.

Verstappen explained, "I'm not going to compare drivers because that doesn't make any sense anyway. But, for me, the only thing that mattered to me was to maintain my relationship with Lando, because we are great friends." He added that after the race they decided to let things cool down and talked on Monday, concluding that they enjoyed the battle. Although it was a small touch, it had a big impact, especially for Lando because of the puncture he suffered.

The Dutchman also commented that they both enjoy racing hard and have done so for many years, not only in Formula 1, but also in virtual racing, where they have a lot of fun together. "These things have to continue, because it's what we like to do, and I think it's great for F1 as well," Max added.

Regarding criticism of his defensive move during the incident with Norris, Verstappen was blunt in saying he doesn't "give a shit" about them. He stressed that he does not agree with the ten-second penalty imposed on him for "causing a collision." "I don't give a shit about the criticism. I'm going home, I'm living my life and, as I said, the only thing I care about is my relationship with Lando. I don't agree with a ten-second penalty. But again, for me, the only thing that was very important about that weekend was just my relationship with Lando," he stressed.

Max Verstappen has always been known for his aggressiveness in wheel-to-wheel duels. In this case, he feels he did nothing out of the ordinary, as he only tried to go to the limit of the rules to keep Norris behind him.
