"Don’t Worry Baby" – The Beach Boys (bass tab & cover) - FRANKS BASS COVERS Released May 1964 from the album “Shut Down” The Song When he heard the Ronettes' #2 hit "Be My Baby” on the radio, Brian Wilson wondered aloud if he could match it. Wilson's wife Marilyn reassured him, saying, "Don't worry, baby." Wilson remembered it when it came time to write songs The song was originally offered to the Ronettes, but was rejected by their producer, Phil Spector. Similarities between this song and "Be My Baby": same key - E Major/ they start the same/ The phrase structure is the same, the chord progressions are almost the same, the melodies are almost the same. The drums at the beginning are the same rhythm as "Be My Baby." -Was released as a double A-side single in May 1964 with “I Get Around"." The song is partly about drag racing, and partly about the relationship between the singer and his girlfriend. In a 1970 interview, Brian Wilson opined, "Probably the best record we've done was 'Don't Worry Baby'. It has about the best proportion of our voices and ranges Musicians/Album This song was recorded in two 8-hour sessions. Brian Wilson often used The Wrecking Crew on his songs, but this one was mostly in the family: Brian played piano and bass, Carl Wilson played guitar, and Dennis Wilson played the drums.
