Brenda shows how she makes her homemade granola using various grains, nuts and dried fruit. It's a very easy recipe....anyone can make it.  It's high in protein, low in sugar and enjoyable anytime of the day/night.

Recipe

Granola

3 Cups Oats
1 1/2 Cups Coconut
1/2 Cup Wheat Gerem
1 Cup Sunflower Seeds
1 Cup Pumpkin Seeds
1/4 Cup Flax Seeds
1/2 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Water
1 Cup Nuts (optionsl)
1/2 Cup Dried Fruit (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees
2. Mix together oats, coconut, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds.
3. Cominb honey and oil and then add to dry ingredients, stirring until will mixed.
4. Gradually add the water until mixture is crumbly.
5. Put mixture into large shallow baking pan/cookie tray and spread evenly to edges.
6. Bake on middle rack of oven for 2 hours stirring every 20 minutes.  
7. Add the nuts and continue baking for 1/2 hour longer, until mixture is thoroughly dry and light brown in color. It should feel crisp to the touch.
8. Remove from oven and mix in dried fruit.

Stores in a cool, dry place.

This is a very adaptable recipe.  Feel free to change quantities of seeds and use any nut/fruit combination you like.
