Chita Rivera and the Rockettes in Can-Can

After breaking her leg in a car accident, Chita Rivera returned to the stage in an international tour of Can-Can, with star billing over The Rockettes and Ron Holgate.  Directed by Dallet Norris and choreographed by Alan Johnson, the 1988 tour went across North America and to Japan (sometimes playing in the round, as shown here).

Watch for Chita's spectacular one-handed cartwheel/split combo near the end!

Trivia: In the early 50's, Chita was a chorus replacement in the broadway company of Can-Can.
