Chinese and Indian casualties:
The Chinese side annihilated three Indian brigades, capturing alive the ace brigade commander Darvill and another brigadier general, Singh. Chinese combat troops suffered over 2,400 casualties, including over 700 deaths. No Chinese soldiers were taken prisoner by India in this war[55]. A total of 8,853 Indian troops were destroyed, including 4,885 killed and 3,968 captured. The PLA lost 722 killed and 1,697 wounded, and no one was taken prisoner. The ratio of enemy annihilation to their own casualties was 3.7:1. Zhang Guohua commanded the main direction of Ketjerang-Dawang-Xishankou-Bangdila battle achieved the greatest results, a total of 6,960 Indian troops were annihilated, accounting for 79% of the total number of annihilated enemy, including killing the following 3,718 Indian infantry 62nd brigade commander Brigadier General Khoshir Singh, and capturing the following Indian infantry 7th brigade commander Brigadier General Ji Pu Dalvi 3242 men; the PLA lost 376 men and 811 wounded, the ratio of enemy annihilation to our casualties was 5.9:1, capturing a big victory at a small cost. The Indian soldiers and officers who escaped with wounds and were found by the Chinese and India after the war to have died of wounds, disease and hunger in the forest were not counted in the battle results. A total of 1 Indian aircraft, 3 helicopters (another 1 destroyed), 7 tanks (another 2 destroyed), 437 vehicles, 380 artillery pieces of all kinds, 6403 guns of all kinds (including 631 light and heavy machine guns), 112 rocket launchers, 32 rifle grenades and bomb throwers, 79,720 rounds of artillery shells, 412,0591 rounds of rifle shells, 16,921 hand grenades, 14,848 mines, radios and telephones. 14848, 520 radio and telegraph sets, 272 telephone sets, 258 telescopes, 36 artillery observation instruments, 45 large engineering machines, 98 generators, 26 chargers, and a large quantity of military supplies. The first phase of the battle of Ketron, including the pursuit operations towards Dhawan, resulted in the destruction of 1,897 Indian troops (mainly the 7th Brigade of Dalvi, which was holding the first line), including 832 killed, 1,065 captured, 75 guns, 122 light and heavy machine guns, 1,104 guns, and 2 helicopters; the PLA suffered 388 casualties, including 256 wounded and 132 killed. Xishankou-Bangdila Battle, annihilated 62nd Indian Brigade, 4th Artillery Brigade, basically annihilated 48th Brigade, 65th Brigade, 67th Brigade and other departments, killed 2,886 men below the brigade commander, captured 2,177 men, captured 3,840 guns, 187 guns, 416 cars, 9 tanks and other large quantities of supplies; PLA sacrificed 225 men, wounded 477; among them, 419 troops annihilated 2,173 enemy men. Including killing 896 people below the brigade commander and capturing 1,277 people.
