Akhtar Usman, a known poet
Akhtar Usman, a known poet of Urdu language and a revivalist of classical marsiya, talks about the history of Marsiya Nigari and Marsiya Khwani. Akhtar Usman is also a literary critic who has written immensely on the classical Urdu poetry. Apart from being a scholar of Urdu language and literature, Akhtar Usman has a strong command over Persian language. We can see the traces of Persian language and sometimes chunks of it in his Urdu poetry books.

Kuch Jaan Lo! is an organization concerned with the arts and culture of Pakistan. The basic motive of KJL! is to reintroduce our vibrant youth with their own art and culture. Till now we have organized events on different literary personalities like Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Saadat Hassan Manto, Noon Meem Rashid, Parveen Shakir, Ahmed Faraz and Ismat Chughtai. Apart from these events we have initiated a series of events called Silsala-e-Parhant (Series of readings), and a reading club called Parhant Kada (Reading Club) in which we invite students and people from other professions to come and read literary pieces of any literary personality of Indian Sub-continent. In the near future, we aim to bring our regional literature, i.e. Punjabi literature, Pashto Literature, Baloch Literature and Sindhi Literature, to our followers.
