The plaintiff rented a room from the defendant, and the day he was supposed to move in, the other tenants told him he couldn’t due to COVID-19 regulations. The defendant refuses to give the plaintiff a refund, so he is suing for the rent money he paid in advance. The defendant claims the plaintiff is the one who backed out of the deal, not him, and it’s not his fault the other tenants were difficult.
