Aquarell Übungen mit speziellen Pinseln | Exercise Watercolor Painting with special brushes

You should familiarise yourself with the special brush by doing simple basic exercises. We mix a dark blue-green from hookers green and indigo. When moved in the direction of the stroke, the fan brush leaves a thin line. When held crosswise in the direction of the stroke, many parallel lines are created. Swinging, twisting the brush between the fingers, placing it vertically or short brush strokes can leave exciting textures such as arable furrows or grapevines.
Quick loose sketches train the eye and the hand. the moist artist watercolors with their special formulation can be diluted very quickly. This is easy on our precious brushes and encourages spontaneity.
In the foreground we use warm darker tones. This makes a landscape appear wide. Nature studies strengthen the awareness of shapes and colors. with brush and color we let a tree grow into the sky. Fine branches are applied lightly and loosely with the Lukas rigger brush. Always turn the brush slightly between your fingertips.
Lighter tones next to darker tones conjure up light in your pictures.
The fan brush is also ideal for painting needle trees. Starting carefully with the tip, we increase the pressure on the larger branches. Lighter shades can also do a good job in the background.
