It was also found that the aqueous extract of Umm Kulthum flowers (Lantana camara) gives the stored tomatoes protection against the black rot fungus (Aspergillus niger), and it has been shown that the extension of the aqueous extract with water shortens the protection period (2).
It was found that the extract and residues of the leaves of lantana camara may cause a clear inhibition of many fungi that infect the roots, as well as the residues of the decomposed leaves may cause an effective change in the composition of the fungi that cause root rot and seedling disease.
The extract of the Umm Kulthum plant is used against the mold that causes fenugreek, and treatment with this extract inhibited the mycelium growth of the fungus in the safe seeds (1).
