How to automatically transcribe video audio to text | Tutorial
Hello everyone, my name is Tim, and today I'll show you how you automatically transcribe the audio in your videos to text, so you can separately download it as a TXT file.
In this example, we hop over to VEED.IO. You can create an account for free. To go straight to the website, click on the first link in the description.
Once you're on the homepage, click on Upload Your Video, then hit Upload a File, select your video clip, and click on Open to import your video to Veed's online video editor.
Once your video is imported, we can easily transcribe the video. Simply go to Subtitles on the left-hand side. Then, click on Auto Transcribe.
Choose the language you speak in your video, which is English in this case. Then, click on Start.
After a short moment, your audio is transcribed to text, which turned into subtitles.
Before we download the text as a separate file, we'll have a check if there are any corrections that need to be made.
These grammar corrections will have an effect on your TXT file later on, so it's important to check this. You can simply change the words in the text boxes on the left-hand side.
You can also edit the timestamps of the subtitles on the bottom timeline, but this doesn't have a direct effect on a TXT file.
It would be if you'd like to download your subtitles as a separate SRT file, for instance, but we solely focus on the text in this video.
Once you're satisfied with the transcription, you can download your text as a separate TXT file.
Hop over to options in the menu. Under Download Subtitles, select TXT Format.
After that, click on the download button on the right, to download the TXT file straight to your computer.
And that's how you quickly and easily transcribe your video to text!
