In this video, My grandma "Popo" shows us how to make my childhood favorite, Preserved Mustard Greens & Steamed Pork (I know there are many variations, this is how I grew up eating it)

This video was filmed back in early 2020 during the height of lockdown. Apologies for the shaky camera. I'll be releasing some great content from 2020 through the next couple of weeks.

HOMESTYLE CHINESE FOOD.

Ingredients

One Bunch of Preserved Mustard Greens

Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt (about 1/4 pound) or as much or a little as you want.
Pork Marinade
1 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
1/2 Tsp White Pepper
1/2 Tsp Sugar
2-3 Tbsp Oil
1 Clove of Garlic

Procedure:
Cut your pork into strips or however you like it and add the seasonings to the meat and set aside to marinate for 1 hour. In the meantime take your Preserved Mustard Greens and pull them off the stems, then in a large bowl rinse them several times and then soak them in a bowl with warm water for 20 min. Then rinse a couple times to remove the sand and some of the salty taste. Finally cut them into small pieces. After the pork has marinaded add the Preserved Mustard Greens and mix. Place the mixture on a heatproof bowl or heatproof plate to steam. Steam for 40 min on medium high heat. After 20 min check your steaming bowl to see if there is enough water. If most of the water evaporated, add some more.

ENJOY!
