“We developed a model called LSD- Lakshmi Saraswati Durga. The aim was to give our employees all these three things in equal numbers since anything in excess would become a problem. This model helped us review people and compensate them and answer the age-old problem of how do we balance it out! Because whenever people got excess of anything, they weren’t able to perform the best.” 62-year-old Kishore Biyani is the Founder of Future Group, and is known as the pioneer of Modern retail industry in India. Starting out in 1987, with Pantaloons, Biyani’s journey has been an inspiration to many. In this episode, he speaks about how all successful people have similar patterns of decision making, going to the edge to fulfill their goals, managing their resources, and more. He talked about how he loves the word failure - it’s a part of life. He says, "I have not met anybody who has not failed at something. When we go through failure, we go through destruction. In a philosophical way, I feel blessed to have seen my failure. Because honestly, no creation can happen without destruction. And I’m someone who got to experience destruction and creation at the same time." We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 5M! Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalogue the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
