In this excel spreadsheet we have values in cells A1 and A2, (88,11) and let’s say that we want to divide the first cell, cell A1, by the second cell A2, and put the answer in cell B4.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to start by left clicking on cell B4, so it is highlighted, then we type in the equals sign, next we left click on cell A1, the divisor, or the number we are dividing into, then we type in the division sign in excel, which is a forward slash. Next, we click on the cell we are dividing by, cell A2, and we finish off by hitting the enter key, and we get an answer of 8.
And if the answer is not a whole number, such as with this example, excel will produce the answer with decimals.
