This is my best effort
This is my best effort recording to bring about the difference in soundstage and imaging differences between a single reactor and a pair in stereo configuration. I am recording on the Sony ECM-XYST1M Stereo Microphone set up to simulate a real listening position setup of a straight on listening position vs a equilateral setup of a stereo pair. This is not a dub-over. This is the live recording as though you were there listening to either one Reactor or a pair of them.
I have tried to explain why I was disappointed with Devialet’s Phantom Reactor initially. I started with one and I almost returned it. I decided to then plug the hole that I dug by buying another one and the sound stage and imaging was completely transformed and I am enjoying them immensely.
We were made with two ears, I strongly believe we should never listen to mono sounds or sounds from one speaker. Don’t just take it from me, hear it for yourself. I hope to have been able to provide some reference point for you to make your decision!
