Former president Harry S. Truman speaks candidly about civil rights. Mr. Truman tries to explain why bigotry exists in America, speaking about white southerners, slavery, and northerners who stick their noses in where they are not wanted. He mentions civil rights laws. Ultimately, he says people will get used to integration and there will be no trouble when they finally get used to it. (Mr. Truman slips into colloquial language a few times and uses a racial epithet.) This was probably used in preparation for the Decision series episode, “Man from Missouri.”
