The Reality Of Surfing Uluwatu, Bali

Uluwatu has been a crowded wave for over 20 years, but since the post-covid explosion things seem to be worse than ever. There were some farcical moments during yesterday's afternoon session with multiple surfers on waves at the same time, and a complete disregard of safety and etiquette from many in the lineup. Although this made for some entertaining viewing up on the cliff, we have to wonder how much fun most of the surfers are really having out there...

Although it was chaotic, there were still some really nice waves ridden during the session, and some of the best conditions we've seen at Uluwatu in a while.
