This video explains the working register and File register in PIC18F452 (PIC18F Family member).This video explains 8-bit internal register is known as WREG Working Register. How one can use this register for temporary storage place and as accumulator in PIC18F. Two different instructions to write and modify the contents of WREG, MOVLW and ADDLW. MOVLW is used to move litteral value in the WREG register and ADDLW is used to add the litteral value in content of WREG register. Next thing we discuss is file register . File register is RAM portion of PIC18F microcontrollers and used by programmers as data pad or scratch pad. File Register is divided into two different portions . SFR and GPR. SFR is used for dedicated function only while GPR is used for general purpose data or any data. SFR and GPR makes up the whole file register but GPR locations are higher in numbers compare to SFR locations. Furthermore, File register could be large enough so that it cant be dealt instantaneously thats why this file register is divided into 16 banks in PIC18F452 while each of these banks can carry 256 bytes . Thats why total size is 16 times the 256 Bytes which means total size of 4KB.
