Greenback Recycling Technologies' (Greenback) innovative
Greenback Recycling Technologies' (Greenback) innovative solution creates value out of flexible plastics that until now have been difficult to recycle.
Its first-of-a-kind advanced plastic recycling plant was opened in in Cuautla, Mexico in May 2023 with support of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and in partnership with Nestlé.
It uses a modular microwave induced technology that transforms flexible plastics waste into high quality pyrolysis oil which can be used to create recycled content for new food packaging. The process also allows the recycling of another valuable raw material, aluminium present in many multilayered, food packaging.
