Hazel and Emilia demonstrate how to measure the energy content of food by burning it, using a bunsen burner and a boiling tube. They show you the equipment involved, the procedure you need to follow, how to carry out the experiment safely and how to use the equation E = mct in order to calculate the energy stored.

You can see more of Emilia's experiments on Insta: @emilia.science

A special thank you to Sancton Wood School in Cambridge for letting us use their lab to film in.

These videos are designed to help with your GCSE and IGCSE science revision.
