Ukraine's Orthodox Church Breaks Away From Russia

At a ceremony in Istanbul on January 5, the spiritual leader of Orthodox Christianity, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople signed a decree granting autocephaly, or independence, to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
