Master Control⎟Microshort

Some background-

I consider this one part cinematography exercise and one part therapeutic journal entry. I’ve been busy trying to get some long-term goals in motion and dealing with, well, life, and I just couldn’t escape this feeling of being perpetually *stuck*.

Separately, I’d been trying to detox from social media a bit because my screen headaches were starting to get more frequent. In trying (and failing several times) to do so, I started to get a pretty dark picture of how much our technology has turned so much of our everyday lives into watching instead of *doing*, which paralleled with my fear of not progressing as fast as I wanted to in several areas of my life.

I had my camera with me after a shoot one night and just started shooting random footage in our master control area, just trying to play with lighting and make some interesting shots using still objects (and myself). Quite randomly, this little monologue started taking shape in my head, and I found a way to fit it into the footage I’d shot. This is the result.

I have a lot planned for 2024, and I’m so grateful to get to do what I love every day as I get closer to my bigger goals. I can’t wait to show you all what I’ve been working on.
