Modeling Mondays. Italeri DAF NTT Cattleman build, Part 1 Chassis. Time for the old school

After a 3 month break,  Modeling Monday back,  this time with the 1986 Italeri DAF NTT Cattleman.

Apologies for the lack in text in the video, so will give a brief outline of the plan and some of the changes made so far during the build, this was a bit of a rough edit.

This kit is the original 1986 release of this unit, the kit was re-released in 2012 for a second run. It is one of a few kits I'd like to see Italeri do more releases off.

The kit was given to me by my dad a gift, which he won on ebay. The kit parts are in good condition but the chrome has faded a bit. The decals appear to be unusable due to cracking, however the ones I do need; dashboard, badges and number plates are fine (so far).

Using reference photos, I've used Molotov liquid chrome to paint the wheels rim, as to match the photos of the real truck.


Looking to the future of the build, more parts may be painted chrome. As for the stripe decals these will hopefully be traced over and copied to the model were they will be hand painted on to the model.
