Actor Michael Jai White recently discussed his views on the acting industry's unfair treatment of Black and female artists. The conversation was triggered by Taraji P. Henson’s emotional revelation about contemplating quitting acting in an earlier interview. White disclosed that Henson is not alone in feeling undervalued and dejected, sharing that Terrence Howard earned merely $12,000 for starring in "Hustle & Flow," exemplifying the inequity persisting in the industry. Speaking from his own experiences, White asserted the industry demands substantial sacrifices and emphasized the need for love for the craft since "it's not going to love you in a number of ways.” He expressed empathy for Henson, asserting the narrative of Black artists not being able to garner the recognition they deserve and the roles they crave need to change.
