The Mysterious Beach in Nan'ao extends south from the Nan'ao River estuary to Guanyin. It has a total length of about six or seven kilometers. The Mysterious Beach belongs to the "Important Habitat for Wildlife on The Guanyin Coast", but no application is required for entering this area. The coast has many sea caves.
清朝同治13年（1874），羅大春率軍開闢北路，通往台灣後山。其中，南澳至觀音的路段，就走在海岸，以避免遭到泰雅族的襲擊。
In the 13th year of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty (1874), Luo Dachun led his army to construct North Road leading to Houshan (Hulien) of Taiwan. section from Nan'ao to Guanyin of North Road was on the coast to avoid being attacked by the Atayal.
當年清軍在這段海岸建有「滴水營」及「大石硿營」兩處營壘。「滴水營」可能就在滴水坑瀑布附近。大石硿，意指海蝕洞。這兩處營壘遺跡已完全消失，正確位置不詳。
In that time, the army of Qing Dynasty built two camp bases, "Dishuikeng Camp" and "Dashikong Camp" on this coastline. The Dishui Camp may be near the waterfall. Dashikong means a large cave, which is a sea cave. The two camps have completely disappeared, so the correct locations cannot be confirmed.

澳尾灘→100分鐘→最大海蝕洞→80分鐘→返回澳尾灘, 來回約10公里, 步行時間約3.5小時 (含休息及拍片)
Aowei Beach → 100 minutes → The largest sea caves → 80 minutes → Return to Aowei Beach, About 10 kilometers back and forth, walking time is about 3.5 hours (including rest and filming)

★大眾運輸：無。可以搭乘台鐵東部幹線至南澳車站，再搭乘計程車至神祕海灘（約3公里）。若計程車司機不曉得地點，請參考以下交通資訊。
★自行開車：Goolge 地圖衛星導航輸入「澳尾灘」、「南澳沙灘車體驗企業社」（南澳海岸路），即可抵達目的地。請勿輸入「南澳神祕海灘」，以免導航至海岸上方的蘇花公路，無法抵達目的地。
★ public transportation: None. You can take the TRA Railway Eastern Line to to Heping Station, transfer to the Aohua Community Bus to the Aohua Tribe, and walk about 2.5 kilometers (about 1 hour) to the entrance of the Aohua Waterfall Trail.
★ Driving by yourself: Use the Google Map satellite navigation and enter "Aohua Waterfall" to reach your destination. Parking is available in the open spaces of roadside along the way to Aohua Waterfall. Part of the road is dirt road, so drive carefully.
