Marine Biologist Naomi Longa of Papua New Guinea accepts her 2024 Whitley Award for her work with local and Indigenous women to safeguard the coral reefs in Kimbe Bay. Filmed at the Royal Geographical Society, London, as part of the 2024 Whitley Awards ceremony livestream, Naomi speaks of the unprecedent threats facing Kimbe Bay's biodiversity and how her project to scale up a network of locally managed marine areas will help to build resilience against climate change.
