The leaders of the former Serb Republic of Krajina have set up a
government in exile and said on Wednesday (16/8) they will not
accept the Croat occupation of Krajina. After their first
parliamentary session late on Wednesday night (16/8) in the
Bosnian town of Bjelijina, Milan Babic, the Prime minister of the
self-declared republic, said the settlement of refugees in Serbia
was temporary because no-one would accept the permanent control of
Krajina by the Croatians. The exiled leaders said they did not
accept the fall of Krajina and its capital Knin as long as one
living Serb remains in the territory. Self-styled President Milan
Martic said he would immediately return to Krajina to continue the
Serb cause.
