So very commonly we see them in the heel of the foot and that is probably because of the extreme dryness people with icthyosis or xerosis can seem see them. There is another condition in young age called juvenile plantar dermatosis. It's a skin condition which is seen mainly in young children. These children present with dry scaly cuts or plaques. That is thick scaly plaques which are in the feet which can be painful sometimes itchy also. The other conditions are something called as psoriasis which you can see and eczema that is repeated washing of the feet some people we can see these cuts also because they sweat a lot. So hyperhidrosis in the feet can also cause cuts. So we need to know what is the condition, why is there cuts and tell them to wear footwear even in the house and use lots of moisturizers. If they are dry and scaly we tell them to use moisturizers with uric acid urea and salicylic acid and probably if the cuts are too bad and painful then they need to use go to a doctor and get some antibiotics painkillers or whatever and protect the skin so that it doesn't get secondly infected and using a moisturizer repeatedly is very good and washing the feet with warm water. Sometimes if it's really bad soak the feet for 10 minutes in warm water, take it out dry the area and apply the cream because whenever you soak your feet it swells up that is osmosis.
