Sandeep Narayan, one of the leading vocalists in Carnatic Music was born and raised in the US. He had his initial introduction to the art form from his mother, Smt Shubha Narayan. His strong interest, even at a young age, led him to Chennai at the age of 11, where he took a year off of school and instead trained from one of the masters of Indian classical music, Shri KS Krishnamurthy.

After Shri Krishnamurthy's passing, Sandeep continued to train from the world-famous Carnatic vocalist, Shri Sanjay Subrahmanyan. Upon completion of his Bachelor's degree in California, Sandeep permanently moved to Chennai in 2002. He has been a full-time performing artist and teacher since.
