Today we're going to review part number C55513. This is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This is a custom fit part number. It is designed to fit the 1993 to 1998 Toyota T100 pickup and the Toyota Tacoma model starting in 2005. What I would recommend is go to the product page of this part number on our website and at the bottom of the product page it will list the exact years and models that this will fit on. This is a quickly and easily way to install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle using this wiring harness. The T-connectors right here will plug directly into existing wiring so there's no cutting, splicing or tapping into the lines required.
The converter that they use is made using a surface mount technology to ensure superior performance. This harness will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle. This will power your trailer's signal lights. This 4-way is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separately. This does connect quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing the wires.
Basically you'll locate the connection points at the rear of the truck, plug in these T-connectors and you'll be ready to go after you ground the white wire. This does include the taillight converter right here. This converter will ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer's. This converter is constructed using surface mount technology which has consistent, reliable performance. This will maximize your trailer light yield in the intensity while producing minimal heat. This does ensure superior operation in rough road conditions. Now all the parts shown here are included.
It comes with a nice set of colored, detailed instructions so you can see where it shows you where to install the harness. It comes with a piece of double-sided tape that is used to attach the converter to your vehicle. It comes with a grounding screw to get a good clean ground of the ground wire. It comes with some zip ties to help secure any loose wires and it comes with the dust cap for the 4-way connector. Basically what you can do is just pop this on and when you're not using it, when it's not connector to a trailer, you can just pop the dust cap right over to protect it. Then when you're going to hook up the trailer, you just plug it right in and you're ready to go. Now a few specs on this harness: The maximum amperage that it'll take for the stop and turn lights is 3 amps per circuit, for the taillights is 5 amps per circuit. Basically the way you'll go to install this is these T-connectors.
These will basically attach to the back of your taillights on your vehicle. What you'll do is the side right here that has the yellow in it, that's for the driver's side. You'll go to the back of the taillight, pop out the connection of the wiring harness to the taillight and just hook this T-connector right in. Then what you'll do is go to the passenger side. As you can see, it has a longer amount of wire so the green wire signifies that it's the passenger side. You'll just go all the way across to the passenger side. Do the same. Disconnect the back of the taillight, plug it right into here. Then you'll still have the white wire to attach and what you'll do is, it has the eyelet on it. Just connect this to a good clean ground using an existing screw or the included grounding screw that they include. With that all connected, you'll be ready to go. You can see your 4-way has a length of wire that you can just extend out so it'll hang out of the back of the vehicle. If you're not using it, just coil it up and store it in the back of the vehicle.
