#HamRadio Today we have the QYT KT-8900D dual band ham radio. This is low budget...I mean, low like whale poop. Around $80 you get a mid-powered dual band mobile radio. This radio was clearly intended for commercial use, however, you could get this affordable radio to use with your Technician ticket.
The radio is 2 Meter/70 cm with about 25 watts of output. It will display four different channels but it will only receive on the channel you have selected. Scanning is a problem; radio won't stop on activity. I get good reports on the loudness of this radio and for my purposes, it will be relegated to backup mode.
Easy to program manually or with the software available like CHIRP. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. For the money, I would recommend this radio to a new Ham or to someone who wants 2 meter, 440 and GMRS/FRS coverage.
This channel was xXRenaissanceManXx and it replaced my old, 92Scalloped channel. My video's will be generally about Survival with a focus on Radio Communications. I have uploaded video's on Emergency Dental Filling, B12 Injections, Portable Solar Generator as well as historic and/or video's that may explain some things in the political realm.
