Mercedes Benz finally introduced the
Mercedes Benz finally introduced the new generation GLS in India and we took the flagship SUV of the German manufacturer straight from the Kochi launch floor to bring you this exclusive review. The new GLS made its global debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show and it is based on a new platform. The exterior design theme is in line with other models of Mercedes and the overall dimensions have increased.
The interior is modern and follows the design of other Mercedes models. The highlight of the interior is the two massive 12.3-inch screens in the centre console as one for the infotainment system and other for the instrument cluster. The GLS is packed with lots of features like latest MBUX system, five-zone climate control, 11 USB ports and more.
In India, Mercedes offers two engine options. The 3.0 L inline-six-cylinder diesel engine puts out 330 hp and 700 Nm while the petrol engine is also a 3.0 L unit with 367 hp and 500 Nm, but this engine gets a 48-Volt hybrid system which gives an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm. These engines are mated to 9-speed automatic and both these models priced at Rs. 99.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
