IPA wash is another term that is thrown around in the detailing world for beginners to be confused, so here I wanted to clear up the confusion. An IPA wash generally is talked about as an agent for removing sealants, waxes, etc... from the car paint, and while it is definitely one way to get to that result, it definitely isn't the best way. I keep a bottle of IPA wash with me at all times, however for removing sealants and waxes before polishing I definitely suggest using a dedicated polishing prep product, simply because alcohol can SOMETIMES have negative effects on the car paint. More than anything, I simply wanted to define some terms and explain the process in this video. Follow along, and learn what this phrase IPA wash means!
