Hi students in this video I am discussing on GST with special reference to Direct Vs Indirect Tax , tax slabs, tax classification, significance, features.
A tax is a compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed upon a taxpayer by a governmental organization in order to fund government spending and various public expenditures. A failure to pay, along with evasion of or resistance to taxation, is punishable by law.
A tax, such as income tax, which is levied on the income or profits of the person who pays it, rather than on goods or services.
An indirect tax is a tax collected by an intermediary from the person who bears the ultimate economic burden of the tax. The intermediary later files a tax return and forwards the tax proceeds to government with the return.
