In this Physics (Theory of Special Relativity) video lecture for B.Sc. in Hindi we explained time dilation and derived the equation using Lorentz transformation.
Time Dilation : Time in an inertial reference frame at rest relative to the observer seems to flow the fastest and the time in other inertial reference frames at motion relative to the observer seems to move slower. From Lorentz transformation we can easily prove that the time in any reference frame moving with velocity v with respect to the observer is dilated by a factor √(1- v²/c²).
